Launching into the New Year
We had a wonderful gathering yesterday morning at Solid Rock (formerly Brighton Presbyterian) Church in their spacious Wallace Hall with over 40 colleagues in attendance, including nearly 10 students from the U of R Medical Center Christian Fellowship. After joining in prayer we gathered around tables to share in fellowship and a delicious breakfast of exotic granola with yogurt, fresh fruit, and home baked blueberry or pumpkin spice muffins, all accompanied by hot beverages and juice. About half an hour in, we interrupted our fellowship to welcome our four speakers, all local colleagues, each of whom gave an engaging PowerPoint presentation of recent missions trips they had participated abroad during the past year. After a question and answer period, many of the attendees stayed until nearly noon talking with the speakers and catching up with one another. It was a very encouraging time together.
