Winter Missions Breakfast
Our MCCF 2020 Missions Breakfast was held on January 25
at the Rochester Academy of Medicine.
We had a standing room only attendance of nearly 60 with four inspiring testimonial presentations from around the globe. Fellowship lasted until noon!
Before introducing our speakers, Dr. Heather Ma announced the start of a local CMDA chapter of Women Physicians in Christ, a monthly evening when women physicians in the Greater Rochester area are invited to share a time of prayer and mutual support. Click here for more info.
Presenters:
- Dr. Christine Borghi-Cavallaro (Family Medicine) presented on the work she and others participated in this past spring at Women of Hope ministering to those caught in prostitution in Honduras. Chris also just returned from a similar trip to Nicaragua.
- Clara Pak (Medical Student leader in URMCCF) gave an inspiring presentation of her journey of faith from a career in teaching to medicine which is leading her back to her family roots in North Korea and China.
- Dr. Joseph and Rebeca DePra (Family Medicine) shared about the ministry they are involved with through their church that sends medical and ministry teams to Guatemala twice a year in February and August.
- Patrick and Janelle Carbary (Emergency Medicine) took us on a heartwarming missions trip with them to minister in God’s grace to Syrian refugees in Lebanon.
- Joseph and Rebecca Harvey (Family Medicine) were suddenly called back to the Congo earlier this week and weren’t able to join us, but they sent contact information, prayer requests, and online links to them and their work (available here) so that we can keep connected.
PowerPoint presentations and a video are posted here it you’d like to see them for yourself (for the first time or again).
